At the end of next month four U.E.S.A. executive members will be visiting the German city of Dusseldorf to participate in the 28th EYE bi-annual conference. EYE, European Young Engineers, is a network of more than 150000 young engineers from 18 different engineering associations throughout Europe. EYE is a network of young engineers and students, which aims at enhancing the exchange of knowledge, promote mobility and to support the personal and professional development of its members. The goal is for young engineers to be part of a network where each individual can unleash his full potential in a European Society.
Dusseldorf is an important city on North Rhine-Westphalia River because of its intense concentration of universities and research institutions. It is one of the most important centres of industry in Europe. Young engineers also have excellent professional prospects in North Rhine-Westphalia -- Twenty thousand vacancies are available and companies are desperately seeking young talents. Four students who will represent UESA will have the opportunity to experience what being a European engineer feels like. The central topic of this conference will be “DO IT WITH A EUROPEAN ENGINEER – More chances for your studies, career and private life”. This conference shall help raise awareness of the image and impact of engineers in our society and raise issues regarding our industrial competitiveness.
The conference offers the students a broad technical program including presentations by high-level representatives from industry and politics, interactive workshops and company visits as well as social events where the students can make important contacts. UESA has been an active member in EYE for the last four years and this conference will definitely not be the last as UESA will strive to offer engineering students such opportunities.
